International lingerie manufacturer Wacoal had a project to migrate their Global e-commerce platform consisting of multi-lingual sites for 5 key brands, from a leased server to the SAP Commerce CCv2 Cloud to improve speed, resilience and a firm timeline was set by an expiring server lease agreement. The CCv2 cloud was also more resilient and had speed benefits over the existing server setup.
The existing infrastructure also had some limitations causing batched data for order and payment confirmations to be backed up between internal systems and as a result, delayed in sending through to customers.
The project was in-flight due to an outgoing Project Manager.
Completing the development and integration phase, and subsequently picking up the testing phase of the project involved working with in-house testing teams, offsite payment gateway providers and offshore development teams, working across in-house waterfall project management and outsourcing providers Agile methodologies for product delivery.
With a fantastic coordinated effort from all areas of the business, we were able to deliver this on time and before the server lease expired, and speed improvements were realised quickly thereafter. The batch data which had been running up to 3 days behind schedule moved to be almost instantaneous hence reducing customer queries and internal workload as a result.
